yea i played a game and gained a huge lead abusing a yone mid (went frozen heart as well) but dealing with the enemy caitlyn was a huge pain. basically forced to play front to back so i ended up just going everfrost + frozen heart + void staff to burn their front line as fast as possible. i would imagine ranged mids end up becoming farm match ups and maybe …My build is usually rav hydra - swifties - infinity edge - and then manamune bc its blue. hes viable (or as viable as ryze can be) anywhere. mid and top are his best lanes and they are very close in viability. just go a normal build top, maybe take ghost into something you need to kite hard (like trundle, darius, garen etc.)

The problem with lane ryze is that u have to face an oponent 1v1 with no dmg, no sustain, no nothing until u get a couple items. With Riftmaker you have a bad early and mid and a bad-decent lategame. It's a fun build that works when you're better than your elo, but not on serious competition i think. No pro ever builds or even tries Riftmaker also. I've seen some pros go Crown, seraphs, Rylais. Should be a decent build against assasins. Ryze lost sustain from ravenous hunter. Loss of instant root and changes to aftershock made the rune unviable on Ryze. Ryze did receive some compensation buffs initially to his health scaling and damage; however more recently Ryze received direct nerfs to his mana ratios for his synergy with fimbulwinter. Yasuo is pretty simple: let him push, lasthit under tower, wait for a gank and kill him ez. try to deny him his flow shield as safe as possible. He is most vulnerable after he has cast whirlwind. As you say, Ryze's passive is in two parts: gaining damage from bonus mana, and gaining bonus mana from AP. The damage gained from mana scalings does not show up in the passive itself. The percentage shown in the passive is the mana increase ...In my opinion, this iteration's low winrate is because of the difficult execution. Ryze used to be a durable battlemage with short range. They've taken out the durability and replaced it with extra damage. However, the kit is structured as though defensive tools were present.
